Does anybody know the particulars for the 2.8 tune? Is there anything I should make sure is taken care of before I send in my ECU? Like check for vacuum leaks or some such? For reference I've a 98 2.8qm, only mod is K&N Air Intake from previous owner.

 

Nothing in particular - on the 2.8 it's a mild gain. No special stuff needed like a new DV on the 1.8T.

 

yea its a plug and play ecu tune for the 2.8. if there is anything wrong with your car before you get the tune, then yea those problems should probably be addressed before you dump money into aftermarket parts. but as far as the ecu exaggerating those problems of making anything worse, then no. the speedtuning reflash wont affect or be affected by existing problems,and any existing problems will still be there after the flash.

 

I am very interested in this group buy. Will they for sure code out O2 sensors? I'd imagine when we order, we contact them, state what we want (including O2 sensors) and mail our ECUs to them (unless you drive it to them).

Is this a one time flash? What if my ECU needs to be reflashed like it did last month? Will they cover the flash on the same ECU for free or will it cost an additional $130 for the same program on the same ECU/or for the same customer? Is $130 the price still? I saw you listed it closer to $200 when you posted on the zine

 

the price is $130. the $200 price is if you want custom options that go above and beyond what the $130 tune does. like coding out the o2 sensors etc. in that regard, you will have to contact them. also, as far as a second reflash goes, im not sure. they might cover it, but i doubt it because reflash's arent really something that needs to be done often. if something happens to your car, and a reflash needs to be done to fix the problem then you will need to contact them about warranty information i believe.
