Thinking About PES SC
when all is said and done, i think your biggest problem is going to be the torque steer that the front wheel drive is going to give you and i dont think there are any cures to that apart from quattro or some how making ur audi rear drive.
I guess that would be a good project although I don't know how I would do it. If anyone knows how to do it, or knows of someone who has done it, I would love to figure out how. I came to conclusion the other day that I will probably keep my A4 for the rest of my life because it's worth more to me than the money I would get for it. So, why not make it a project car?
www.scaudi.com (as mentioned above) will give you all you need to know. My own take on it would be:
1 - full timing belt service and tuneup - make sure the fundamental maintenance is done and good. Correct plugs, new fuel filter, new fluids (coolant, oil, transmission), and probably a low-temp thermostat wouldn't be a bad idea
2 - compression check - no sense spending a couple grand for forced induction if you can't keep it in the cylinder when you're supposed to
3 - leakdown test (see 2 for reasons)
4 - upgraded brakes - you don't want to boot the gas and then find out you can't rein in the speed in time when someone pulls out in front of you. No need to go nuts with StopTech or anything like that, but a A8 brake upgrade is well worth the $300-400 on any A4, let alone one under boost. Better suspension damping wouldn't be foolish either.
5 - drivetrain stabilizer and upgraded snub mount - I've read that the DTS is a need for a supercharged car, and if it were me doing the mod, I'd upgrade the snub too - that's a lot of kick to throw at the engine and you want to keep it under control. Too much engine rock and you're gonna have issues later on.

I feel like an idiot. I read the instruction manual for the G1 and understood maybe 3 pages out of the 35. Superchargers are an entirely new concept for me, so this is a scary thing to do. I know I'm just being a puss, but hey, this is my child we're talking about.
You should look at the PES-Tuning website too...if you're buying it new, I'm pretty sure that the G2 comes with a GIAC chip already! I'm also betting that it is the better blower kit of the 2.
