got the news i blew my 2000 a4 2.8 30v quattro's head gasket. So hopefully monday i will have found a new engine with lower mileage and clutch kit. Praying she is back up and running by end of next week. Reason for replacing engine is old engine had 216990 : / not worth doing the gasket job and engine was giving me headaches anyway

Lost the cruise control and had the engine revving up between gears last week. Googled the symptoms: broken clutch switch (P/N 8EO 927 189B). Took the bastard appart and fixed the contact spring with an iron solder. Et voila cruise control back!
Don't know how this temporarily fix will last but now I know I should order a new switch soon.

That's the last straw. I've been putting up with my shitty Rain-x Latitude wipers all winter and one of them just fell right the **** off this morning in a freezing rain storm. Bosch Icons here I come!

^ OEM Aero wipers are the way to go! I got the wiper arms and blades off of a B5.5 Passat for ~$30 rather than the $100+ that ECS wants. They look and work better than my Bosch wipers.

I very strongly considered that before I bought the Rain-x blades last summer, but I'm concerned about the refills being a dealer-only item. If I find myself in a situation where I need to replace one of the blades in an emergency and I'm not near a dealer I'd be SOL. Though I suppose I could just buy spares and keep them with me?
