What did you do to your B5 today?
Yesterday morning during my commute to work, with about 1/2 mile left my car decided to start acting up. Shortly thereafter the CEL started flashing... misfire.
Pulled codes during my morning break, misfire on cylinder 3. During lunch I swapped around coil packs and learned that in fact that one 2.0T coil pack was bad. So I promptly ordered 4 new 2.0T coil packs (06H-905-115B) for $18 each, as well as some new coil pack connectors for the harness.
So I drove home with a bad coil pack with the corresponding injector unplugged. It sucks driving on only 3 cylinders!
Got home from work, re-gapped my plugs from 0.040" down to 0.028", and plugged in my old AWM coil packs. Now (temporarily) almost back to normal, until the new 2.0T coil packs come in then I'll re-gap to 0.038".

Haven't had much luck running large gaps (larger than say 0.034). I read/heard of some running 38 and even 40. Glad if it runs high boost (20+ psi) on 32 gap without misfire (on FSI coils, naturally).
I am still trying to find a working solution for my AEB (outflowing the stock MAF; tried C2 Motorsport stg5 (550cc, 3" MAF) with no luck; own beta tune needs lot of work. Have 2 AEB on bigger turbos (one similar to FT F21, one quite bigger RS6 based with billet comp). Obviously wouldn't be an issue on newer models with the Bosch 7.x ECU, but the old AEB issue is cumbersome (not much data to log, no wideband (I use mobile A/F logger and 'video' rpm/boost gauge).
Fuel pump: let me know what deatschwerk pump and kit you bought. I put one in my Allroad. Great pump, but had to fight a lot to get a sock/strainer on (had to use the stock one and make a ghetto adapter).
4:1 diff: only recently picked one up. Not installed yet. Aside from winter or other 'wheel spin' situation: do you notice a difference on dry road?
My boost is 20-22 psi, and I never had a misfire issue until the coil pack failed. I'm planning to drop the gap to help increase coil pack life.
Started off with stock MAF (AWM MAF can read up to ~220 g/s).
Right now I am running 3" MAF housing, but mostly for diagnostic purposes. Think about switching to 3" MAF permanently to reduce pressure loss through the intake tract.
Also keep in mind Motoza is only for wideband cars.
Basically you use your wideband controller's output scaled to 0-1 V, and hook that output to the secondary O2 sensor wire harness. Then you can use VAG-COM or whatever to effectively log wideband (along with RPM, g/s, timing, etc).
The kit was just a generic one supplied by PM Engineering.
Main difference with 4:1 diff is reduced understeer going HARD in a corner. In most other situations the diff won't act much different from stock 2:1 diff.
Also if you buy shims and install them yourself like I did, the chances are good that you will get some clunking during low-speed tight turns. This is because the tolerance of the shims is wrong for your particular center differential. If you have a professional make/install the shims for you, then they can ensure they are a good match for your center diff and won't have this clunking problem.
Please let me know if you would like any particular video and I will post it for you! I am trying to record videos of German cars (particularly Audi) so everyone trying to modify or fix their A4, A6 and A8 models can have an idea of how it is put together.

I had an issue pop up with the clutch master cylinder a while back.....fixed it after taking it to my guy down the road.....I am now sitting on 173K and it is running strong still hitting 15-16 boost on the stock K03.....have been looking into a new turbo....I am going to get a new radiator and then fmic and work on getting a nice 3" exhaust my Remus is falling apart but what do you expect lol 17 year old AEB.....I just had new lights put in my car....LED Super Bright for the High Beam.....35w HID's for Low and Fog....LED Switchbacks in the turn signals. Still rocking the two piece
Stopped by mechanic today. Need new axles and some control arms. Posted this in my update thread as well, more details there.
What is recommended for control arms or are they generally all the same. Are there "performance" ones?

Well, I haven't been on in a while, I've busy on FTE getting my truck running again. Update since last post: New clutch, the throwout bearing exploded, and the pressure plate was scored pretty bad. I have some pictures, I just need to send them from my phone to my E-mail after dinner. That was a fun week of being under the car!
After the install, ran through some big puddles of water, and fried the alternator. I'll tell ya what, the "service position" isn't really all the great. First time I had the front end off, and I don't want to do that again any time soon, unless it's doing an upgrade! Needless to say, I had a busy time with that. Now, I have misfire in cyl 3 codes. I'm hoping it's just the coil pack, or a faulty o2 sensor. They were starting to look pretty burnt, and I might have messed up one hanging the exhaust. I already replaced plugs and wires, and will get the other parts when I get back from OCONUS. Probably invest in VAG-COM too.
That will be another couple months before I can work on the old girl again though. Pictures will be up later!
NOTE: 99 A4 blew a head gasket in Germany before I PCS'd back to the US. I haven't updated my profile in a while as you can see. It's now a 1997 2.8QM 12V!
