Default Whats the factory rev limiter set at?

I was free revving my car after clearing codes to get them to show back up, and I definitely got about 3 lines into the red (which frankly scared me shitless) because thats how I spun a rod on my camry. So does anyone know exactly where the fuel cut is?

There is no rev limiter when there is no load on the motor. So if you free rev the car or miss a shift and go WOT you can take the car well beyond 8k rpm.

Stock rev limiter is 6700 rpm and chipped tends to be 7k-7200.

Is this because there is less danger in overrevving without load?

I guess so. But that doesn't mean you wont cause damage since the valves can flow when revved over 8k.

And what's the danger of a floated valve? I know its not good for it, but I thought it would just not run as well.

Who thought that would be a good idea? if you rev high enough say a missed 2 > 1 instead of 2 > 3, I know you can crack pistons, and possibly snap a rod. Bent valves obviously
