Default wheel/bent rim question

So i bought a used pair of rims for a hell of a price, one of the rims was bent pretty bad (yes i know i have to take it too get it fixed, im going tomorrow morning). I hammered out the rims the best i could to make it even along the tire wall and then i balanced all 4 rims with the tires. My question is if i put the bent rim in the back (yes it vibrates) will it still make my steering wheel shake/vibrate? Or should all the vibration and shaking stay all the way in the back and not affect my steering wheel?

You'll only feel wheel shake if the vibration comes from a wheel attached to the steering rack.

If the offending wheel is bent badly enough you still might feel it wobbling, just not in the steering wheel. Assuming it's not bent so much that it leaks air since its on your car, I would think the vibration would be minimal.

So the rim was bent pretty badly on the outside and the inside, i didn't even notice the outside of the rim until the tire shop pointed it out, and that rim made my whole car vibrate and it gave me the illusion that my front was vibrating also. Anyway dropped it off at the shop $115 to repair it, not too bad. Thanks for your feedback guys.

Where did you have it repaired? I have a cracked SSR wheel that I've been meaning to get welded, but haven't found any reasonably priced shops.

Damaged Wheel Rim Repair Refinishing Straightening & Polishing

Not a poplar shop, its run by some old russian man, i've known about this place for a while and hes been around for a while too and ive heard good things. This is my first time having any rim work done, and my rim was bent pretty bad, he quoted me $100 to repair the rim and another 15$ to remove the tire/put it back on, i could have saved 15$ but i didn't feel like driving back to my dads shop to remove the tire off the rim. Ill let you know how it turns out tomorrow when i pick up the rim.

Cool. Thanks!

I assume he welds cracks too?

Do you have a picture of how bad the bend/dent was?

Well i picked up my rim today and he did a great job, unfortunately i don't have any before pictures, but my inside dent was about 2 inches deep and one of the spokes on the outside of the rim was bent out a good amount. I am more than happy with his work, i think he did a great job and he even sanded down my curb rashed sides for free! and balanced the rim was well, i don't think i could have found anyplace that did it for this price (100$ for the repair +15$ for the tire work). The turn around time was outstanding as well i could have picked up my rim 2 hours after i dropped it off but i couldn't due to work. Here is a few after pictures.
