I got an 01 A4 1.8. She wont shift correctly. If i start her in nuetral she wont go into gear. When i start in 1st then i can shift that the way to 5th but cannot shift down. To get into reverse i have to turn her off n start in reverse.
I had a brand new clutch master and clutch slave from the previous owner so i installed it hopefulli that would fix it but no go. I dont believe it is the clutch because when i do start it and it is in gear if i release the clutch it will stall. It will stall in each gear. So from what i was taught the clutch is still good or at least wrking. Any ideas. Please guys this is my baby lol

 

Are you sure you bled the system properly? Did you do a bench bleed on the master before installing it?

 

yea i did do that and also bleed the stlave when i installed it because the clutch felt like it wasnt holding pressure but after bleeding the slave it solved that issue. But still wont let me shift gears

 

Pressure plate probably took a dump. Keeps the clutch disc partially enguaged due to weak fingers.
