Default hid bulbs..

i have a 2005 a4 avant with stock HIDs, the bulbs are cool as hell and i want to step up my rating, i dont know exactly what they are, i have been told stockers are 4300k, and i want to have matching fogs and head lights. my only concern is i have the self leveling lights and the HIDS are used when i use my high beams too. so is there some sort of special bulb i need that is not "standard". thanks for any info you guys can give me.
im likely gunna buy both from ebay cuz i've seen good prices there =)
thanks again
mike

After reading this thread, let me be the first to say VVME is hit or miss as far a splug and play. Plug it up first if you want, but remember I told you so when you have to do it twice and hard wire it the second time. It may work at first but over time it will fail and if it fails once it will fail again. For the record, that was a VVME kit in the link to the DIY.

5500K is the highest you can go with a stock ballast. You can change to an aftermarket kit and retain auto leveling, that is a seperate component inside the housing. I don't reccomend going over 6000K unless you really want the color and do;t mind loosing some usable light. Good luck

i know this is an old post, but i am curious if i am replacing the fogs, would i need a single beam or the bi-xenon dual beam?

i am assuming the single beam beacuse i think the dual beam is for maybe headlights that use one bulb for low and high, but i just want to double check before i order!
