Buying a B6 A4!!!
So after looking for a car for a long time, I have finally decided on this car. Furthermore, I test drove one today and fell in love with it. The next step is just buying it.
However, I am concerned with maintenance and repair costs. Can it get pretty rough to keep this car going? Oil changes, break jobs, spark plugs, and other regular maintenance....I expect it to cost a lot being an Audi. Is it expensive?
Thanks in advance

first thing i would check is has the timing belt and water pump been done... should be done ever 60-80k... kit is about 250(diy) or anywhere from 800-1500 at a shop depending on wage
normal maintenance is going to be oil change every 3-6k (w/ syn oil about 60ish) plugs every 12-24k 2-5/ plug brakes as needed 60 for front, coil packs can go out, tre's and suspension parts as wear..... these cars are not cheap but not alot more than any other car.... if you can diy

I have 2002 3.0... I love the car so much that on the day one I was driving everywhere, like crazy. Also me and my friends drove all the way to Florida during the first weekend I had my car, it was one of most comfortable road trips I ever had.
Thanks
The basic stuff like brakes, spark plugs, oil changes aren't much different than any other car. Full synthetic oil changes (group 4 oil) are $30. Look for deals at autozone, pep boys ect and buy the castrol syntec when its on sale: 5 qts and a filter for $29.99.
The timing belt and water pump job will be expensive but once it's done, it's done for a long time.
Look up the previous maintenance history and be sure the oil has been changed on time so theres no sludge.

I just replaced my timing belt, and the cost in parts was around $600. I saved around $1000 just because I replaced the TB by my self.
