I'm not saying oil changes under 10K are bad at all. If I were worried about replacing an engine or head cause I had no warranty I would change at 7500 personally. I don't trust german cars for reliability anyway so I trade once i'm out of warranty. I don't put myself in a situation where changing at 10K will ever hurt me personally.

Update! I hit a deer with my car last fall and while getting re work completed I decided to repair the pump and cam issue while the front end was apart. At the same time I had the timing belt replaced and front brakes done. In addition to the $12k in insurance damage I had to write a cheque for 4800.00! My car has 190kms on it and it's refreshing to have boost.
I love the car but since last November and the last $$ I have had to invest another $1800 in repairs. The drivers side door lock was seized and left me stranded in a parking lot with key in hand as the battery often my fob had randomly died. The trunk latch was replaced as it wouldn't lock down, had to drive for three days with it unlatched until parts arrived.
The front clearance lens disappeared, probably from the deer got repair. Lens 20.00 what they didn't tell me was labour to remove the front clip in order to replace it was 350.00! Recently a code showed up, 270.00 for a vent valve plus 180.00 labour to install, code back in a day, needs another 600.00 for the "other" module, I think they said valve runner vent or something for emmissions and fuel economy. I love this car but the maintenance is rediculous.

I can't tell if you mean 190k miles or 190k kilometers, but either way, if a deer did $12k worth of damage, that car should've been totalled. It was silly to put another $4800 into it on top of it. Between the insurance money and the $4800, you could've just replaced it with an A4 with many less miles on it.

190,000 KMS. The cam and follower are updated parts from Audi, shaft is hardened differently. As far as insurance, believe me I tried to push for write off but I was just along for the ride.

Well, I'm sorry you didn't have much luck with the insurance. Values must be radically different up there in the Great White North--no way an Audi with over 100k miles would be worth $16k around here (and typically a car is totalled when the damage reaches 75% of its value in the US). Sorry you didn't have a choice.

If you actually had damage from the cam follower wearing, maybe you can file with Audi. I don't know if Canada is handling it differently than here, but Audi USA just extended the warranty on the cam follower issue to 10 yrs/120k miles and are offering reimbursements for people who paid out of pocket. Maybe you can at least recoup a few bucks.
