Little curiosities and one tech specific question :)
Hey all
So after ~two weeks of driving the B7, I'm now having some curiosities piqued about certain sounds. Nothing serious, just curiosities.
First up, can anyone tell me how the original, stock DV sounded before any sort of upgrade? As far as I can tell from my service records that I finally got my hands on, mine has never been replaced, but said records also are quite minimally descriptive as far as certain specific services (see image below) so I can't be sure. Hence, if someone could describe how it sounded originally, how the dealer recommended replacement sounds, and how any of the various aftermarket replacements sound so I can more accurately judge if mine's ever been changed or not, that would be great
**for reference, the sound I get now is, for lack of better term coming to mind, not unlike that of a balloon quickly deflating in a flatulent manner- or as some others might put it, a duck farting.**
My next question is if anyone else has had a problem with the headliner vibrating right above the passenger side vanity mirror? The only rattling I get in this car, I get while driving, and its not always there mind you; is from that spot and its triggered by anything from road noise and music alike, and with volume- it rattles louder if music volume is louder, which sucks cuz I therefore cant exactly drown out the rattle with music haha. Sometimes, shutting the sunroof shade will take care of it, sometimes not; but a surefire, no fail, albeit temporary solution is to put my hand on the spot and hold it- but as soon as I move my hand back to shift or you know, drive, it comes back. If anyone else has had this problem, have you found a way to fix it?
Lastly, this question is aimed specifically for Audi dealership techs (but the rest of you can enjoy the picture just the same
:: from looking at the image below, are there any immediately pressing things I need to assess? If I had to guess from this record, I'd say I'm pretty set for a while. Also, am I safe to assume that the various recommended services shown (15k, 25k etc) included an oil change as well? Obviously, there's nothing I could do about that now if they don't, but I was just curious
Oh, and while we're talking about recommended service intervals, can you tell me just what is included in those? For example, as you can see, the 105k service was performed 6k early, so I'm just curious what all was serviced, like, transmission fluid changed, spark plugs, that kind of thing.
That said, this here, IMO, is how the record sheet of any used car should look:
Much thanks for the help so far and any input on my above mentioned curiosities
tl;dr :: I'm curious about how the stock DV sounded to compare with mine, I have a rattle in my headliner I'd like to get rid of, and my maintenance record looks pretty awesome, but I wanted a tech's input on the record just in case.
