Default Powersteering pump

Hi, i have a audi a4 b7 2.0tfsi quattro. the issue i am having is the power steering is not working at all, unless i rev the engine to 5-7000 rpm. and even then i dont get all the function of the powersteering working. this happend when i started drifting in a circle on one spot with full lock to the side. there were no sound or anything it just stoped working, when i look in the container there had come alot of fluid out but it was still half full. there was no movment in the fluid in the container when engine was on, bearly moves when i rev that high on the engine while turning. there is no sound out of the pump of course even when turning or reving high. i think its the pump but i want to hear what you guys have to say.

I would top the fluid off and see if that clears the issue. Not sure about Audi's, but other cars I had if fluid got low it would act as you are describing. Since there is a cap on the pump the next question is how and where did the fluid leak out from.
