I was looking to buy a 08 a4 3.2 six speed manual with a s line package here is my question since it has no timing belt are there any other concerns to look for on this car I got to see it when it came in it has been smoked in (has a few small burn in places i can accept) it has 61,000 miles on it and looks like it wasn't taken the best of care of. car fax shows it went from Massachusetts to Illinois to Indiana. was at Audi dealer to be checked out and came back with no major fixes. anything to look for or worry about. i see post on here about coil packs. anything else to look for.

My opinion is that if a car looks like it wasn't taken care of then you should stay away from it. Now, if it was checked out by an Audi dealer and came back with a clean bill of health that might sway me a little. How does the car smell (or are you a smoker)? That could be a major deal breaker for me if it still smells like smoke. I don not know much about the 3.2, but now that a manual is hard to find. Is it a Quatro as well?

I dont smoke.so i smelled it right away. it wasnt that bad though. it got out of detail today and I drove it again no smell and looks good much better than before. the car is the v6 with s line package and six speed manual. im sure it will sell quick if I dont buy it. ive been searching today and last night to find issues with the car and the 3.2 seems fairly solid. (im not looking to mod the car) it will be a second car so my wife doesnt have to drive a denali everyday to work alone.. I figure the gas savings alone will pay for the car if i keep it forever...lol. I asked about coil packs and they said they had it over to the audi dealer to do a presale inspection and fixed anything they found wrong. they fixed minor things leaking valve cover and tail light replacement was what they showed me on the invoice from the dealer was all that was done. i asked about tsb and they said if it was not a recall then they would not fix it. thought I would ask for a wheel alignment and brake fluid flush. other than that i guess ill pull the trigger and buy it they are down to 20,000 before tax tags etc. doesnt seem to be major issues flying around the net about serious problems with the car or engine..

Looks nice. I can see why you would want to pull the trigger. I hear the 3.2 are a pretty solid motor. For that matter Audis are considered pretty solid cars all around. The only thing that would scare me is the smoke smell. If you can get that in check than go for it and enjoy.

i think the timing belt change interval is 175,000 km/110,000 miles so it should be fine for a while.
