Question ESP / Dynamic Steering Fault??

Hi Everyone,

New to this, however, thought this would be the best place to answer any Audi related issues.

I drive a 2008 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro (B8) and I have just fitted new front discs and pads and new tyres. It has driven approximately 200 miles and when I fired the car up, ESP Fault (See owners manual) popped up on the display. Also noticed that the braking guard and the dynamic steering are disabled. The adaptive cruise control is also not working.

The ESP light is on continuously on the dash along with the dynamic steering light.

Has anyone had this issue before that can give me some guidance?

Thanks in advance.

Any update on your issues, just has this happen to my 2008 S5. Had new front tyres and a full wheel alignment a few hundred miles ago. My steering wheel also put itself off centre by approx a 1/8 turn wheel the errors flashed up.

Hi,
No update at all....
Now that you mention it, my steering is slightly off centre, but it has always been like this.

I have a handheld computer, Vgate Scan, and it has come up with the following:
03110 - DTC definitions not found! Please refer to vehicle service manual.

Not even sure if this means anything... After putting the code into Google, it relates to the active steering module..

Anybody out there with any solution???

Probably won't solve your issue, but some background reading I found online - had to sign up, but was free....

My car currently in with Audi agent (luckily I have a warranty!!), I'll keep you posted on what they find.

Yes, that would be great. Let me know what they came up with.

Thanks

Seems to have been solved by them doing a 'Basic Setting' on the dynamic steering. They did take a few things apart and look for anything wrong, but in the end looks like electronics just needed resetting and Audi to make some money

Thanks for the info Alex. Car is booked in for a wheel alignment check now and a diagnostic check to done on completion and with the info you provided, I can ask them to check the basic settings with the dynamic steering module.

Default Audi B8 09 ESP active steering fault traction control light on as well

What did you do to fix? New module or did they do something else? Can this be done without Audi involved?
Thanks
