Thanks for the tip. My flooding was so bad I may need to replace the carpet (2-inches of water on the floor in the back seat). Concerned about mold, rust, smell...so a complete carpet-excorcism may be in order. I'm surfing the web for seat-removal instructions (I don't have the complete manual), and have visions of a major mess if I just dive in and take my chances...

Any thoughts?

I had the same problem with flooding my 97 a4. It was actually not a leak but a plugged drain that is located under your battery. It was only on the drivers side for me. Might want o check that out.
