hey guys whats up? im lookin at a 97 a4 with 116000 miles on it im just wondering about how long the tranny and clutch last assuming whoever owns the car knows how to drive and takes reasonable car of it? and info would be great!!!

I can't say for sure how long that particular setup will last, but I can tell you my 99 is on its original clutch at 147k miles, and it shows zero sign of wearing out or dying anytime soon. As for the transmission, just as with any other tranny in a well-built car, if it has been driven properly there's no reason to expect it to die at all. I've seen several posts from the A8 guys having problems with their automatics, but no such thing here in the A4 boards.

clutches last pretty long on these as long as oyu can drive stick, i was about to buy an a4 with 204k miles and still on the original clutch.
