Thinking of buying 2005 S4....
...with 88000 miles on it. The price is reasonable but I'm worried about the 100000 mile maintenance. I'm only paying $7500 for car but don't want to have to pay half that for maintenance. Any advice or helpful suggestions?
Hello and welcome to the site! You've came to the right place - this forum is a great resource with tons of useful information and knowledgeable guys. Good luck with the hunt and ask away if you need any info.
Two major issues with that generation S4 are fragmented flywheels and timing chain failure. I was told years ago that the timing chain issue was corrected starting with cars built in 10/04, so verify the build date on any you look at. The flywheel issue I never heard of being resolved, so it's something to keep in mind. Comprehensive service records would be a plus on any car you consider.
