Dealer tells me my clutch blew into pieces and damaged flywheel. Pressure discs/plate were not very worn. Dealer says he doesn't know why it happened. Sorry, clutch is a wear item, not covered by extended wty. $3000 pls. BTW, he says, one of my motor mounts is broken.
So, my question is: could the failure of the motor mount have caused the structure to torque and twist and blow apart the clutch? If true, I have a wty claim.
thx

Very doubtful - the way the clutch assembly is attached to the engine and mated to the transmission should keep everything aligned just fine. I doubt very much that the mount had anything to do with it.

However, you said the dealer says that the clutch isn't worn much. If that's the case, and it still blew apart, that sounds like a flawed part which should be covered...
