OK, I think I am going to do this mod this weekend. I keep reading about adding a K&N Filter in .... where does this go? Are we talking about filter located by Front Window???
Or throwing a filter in by airbox?

^^^ For those of you that don't have a turbo, their is no need to do this mod get a short ram style intake. I say this because your cars don't make the heat like a turbo car there for you have no use for this kind of mod. You should get as good or better results with a short ram then you would with the stock junk....

oh dude, just did the mod on my 12v, i love it thanks for idea, it sounds nice and quiet at low rpm and is a beast at higher ones, i got better throttle response as well and maybe a (1-3)few hp, (that might be in my head) but thanks i love it, and it gave me something to do on my car

so i did this 2 weeks ago and havent had time to post uup. Once i got that PITA cover out of the way...which BTW was a total PITA i was able to get the box out...cut it open...have hot pits of plastic stick to me when cutting....drilled my holes, screened it...reinstalled....and now with that and my exhaust the car feels incredible.....throttle response is great and the car sounds great.....very happy a4autocrossr over here.....
BTW...if anyone wants a piece of black screen to do this instead of buying a WHOLE roll just PM me and ill send you a piece (for the right price of course...$1.00...to cover shipping...)

mine didnt... is there any way this could be hurting the top end, feels like power drops just before redline, maybe it did befoer as well but it feels stronge in mid-range still
