Default Brake Boost Fault

1 Fault Found:
17887 - Brake Boost Vacuum System: Mechanical Failure
P1479 - 008 - Implausible Signal

Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

Either your brake booster needs to be replaced, or the vacuum hoses to the booster are loose.

Are you having any brake problems such as fade, or poor braking for the first minute after your car has been parked a while? If no problem, clear the code and recheck in a day to see if it re-appeared.

No braking problems as far as I can tell. I've reset it a few times and it always comes back.

Can someone take a pick of the vacuum hose? I have a 2002 A4 B6

brake booster is center on back of engine - big black cylindrical thing left of the brake fluid reservoir.
There is a check valve that can blow apart.

here is a schematic - it's #7
