I am going to look at 96 audi a4 this weekendwith 80k miles for >6k, the seller says that it had the timing belt, waterpump, and all new belts, only 2 owners. does this sound for real?

 

my first car was a 96 a4 2.8 fwd and i bout it for 6k with 110k, it was a good first car but i did put about $8,000 into it within the first 2 years

 

Very reliable car as long as its been serviced, my last one was mint and had 146k miles on it, my current one isnt as nice and needs some work but still gets me from here to there no problem and still pulls hard up to 130moh when the governor kicks in.

 

I think you can get a 96 for cheaper than that if you look around. I got my 99.5 quattro with 53K for $7k. But I think I just got a killer deal!

 

The mileage is very good. Price is still a tad high, not bymuch though. Would be a reliable car. Just understand you would have minimal moding capabilities compared to the 30v 2.8 (98+)and especially the 1.8t.
