Ok, I did lil research today, and some guys offer remapping of your car directly though the vehicles standard diagnostic port… is it real ??? then they say “Not all cars can be remapped in this way as not all cars are new enough to have the technology on board to facilitate diagnostic port remapping. Cars to old for remapping have to be chip tuned.”[/i]
So I have late 2000 A4 1.8t… and 2001 Audi S4 2.7 work in progress.
i don’t want to spent extra money on it, so if I ever decide to mess with it a bit do i have to have an actual chip? or it’s possible to just get one of those cables to plug your car to laptop and do some work. i’m really good on comp stuff (soft and hardware), i’m pretty sure it’s possible to hack (maybe already been hacked) any software made by the humans and use your laptop to do all that expensive work by yourself …
my previous car was civic si, and it didn’t have all that fancy electronics and computers.
so, question is what is possible and what’s not? 
i'll be out of town camping for a week, all get bak here
