Zack, 150K on an Audi motor is not a lot, IF it's been taken care of. It's got to be in very good condition for $ 6000 for an Audi tha't almost 10 yrs old.
The noise from the front, if it's from the wheel area, is probably control arms/tie rod ends, make sure they fix that. For the ABS light, if they don't fix that, walk away, that could be pretty expensive.

If the ABS light is fixed ON and the brake light flashes then its the ABS module. Common mishap for Audi's especially A6's. It's fairly cheap (200) and you just have to remove it and send it to ModuleMasters and they fix it and send it back. If its well taken care of it can be an ok deal. Try to bargain down a little.

A little high on the price. If they fixed both problems mentioned and it is in really good shape I might consider giving $6k for it. I just bought a 2000 A6 2.7t 6 speed with 124k miles on it that was in great shape minus some rock chips on the front bumper for the same price so you can definatly find a cheaper and lower mileage one. Also, is the one you are looking at a Quattro?

I got mine at 145XXX miles, it had the waterpump and the belts replaced, I got it for $3700 its a 1998 Quattro.
it was defenitely worth it, I kinda felt stupid at first because of the high mileage but after driving it for a month I feel like I made the right choice.
Please its not rare to see somebody with 250K+ miles on their Audi's.

Well not here atleast, good luck and PLEASE talk them down, this should not be hard, however at a mom and pop dealership it might be, in the end they only care about money, if you dont get it somebody else with, those are targets for people with poor credit willing to pay whatever for a somewhat decent car.

my father used to own one of those places, be careful, they are either great cards or horrible cars.
Most of the time you've already paid the car off in full with the down payment alone, but assuming you have CASH IN FULL you should not have a problem talking them down to alteast 5000.

Look on eBay if you are really serious about getting one, they average for like 4,600+ in completed listings, just make sure its close.

Good Luck.

6,000 is way too much for a 99 with 150K.... I would guess 4 for a good one is a decent deal. Even less if it has a few obvious problems like the one your looking at . Run away -don't walk from it as fast as you can.
