Just drove it to work today, but yesterday I went to the junkyard and after 3 years of searching parts cars, I finally found a battery tray cover. Cost me $3.64. Very happy because I always miss them in part-outs and I'm not paying $120 for one from ECS. Please ignore the shitty-looking VCs. Thanks to a local guy who started a powdercoating business, the engine will look much better later this summer.
Also grabbed a new motion sensor shutoff button since mine was messed up. The day before, I went up by Ft Drum and bought a set of 18" 5Zigen wheels with two pristine tires. Tires are going on my wheels and my friend Gerry is taking the wheels for his S14. Got a great price on them. You older guys may remember these from the heyday of Japanese car tuning. I paid only $125 for the full set. Deal of the year
Gerry stopped by today so we had to eyeball them. Gonna look great.
Of course I had to check them against my car and to be honest I kinda like the white on silver look. I'd have to run wobble bolts because they're 5x114.3 but I like my wheels and I'm hooking him up on these, already promised.

projector headlights
i recently found a pair of black one piece headlights w/angel eyes in a junkyard. They were on a 99 a4 turbo. They are now on my 96 quattro. here is a shot with just one in for comparison. Love the new look!

Elmer, very good deal on the lights. Vgo, yeah two tires are completely wasted but the other two are basically new. I bought them for the tires. The wheels aren't 5x112 anyhow, and I kept the tires and my buddy is picking up the wheels for his S14 this weekend. And for $125, I wasn't gonna complain
