well this morning it was -6 & the car started with out any problems...it's kinda pissing me off on what the problem was earlier

It could be some chipped teeth on the flywheel and when the car stops at that exact point the starter isn't making enough contact to turn it (which would also explain the grinding noise you mentioned)

it's looking more & more what u guys were saying....chipped flywheel....last dozen starts have been fine....also I might add...a few times in the past the first crank it would not start..2nd it would...other times it would take 3 or even 4 cranks to start...any Idea on how much this would cost to fix? & if this should be fixed asap...or if I can wait a bit..thankx!

If its chipped teeth on the flywheel then you need to replace it. The longer you wait to fix it the more damage you do to your starter everytime you hear that grinding noise.

ok.,..but what would a job like this cost? also the car has been starting fine last 3-4 days..no grindng
