Transmission or Clutch Problem?
New to the forum and new to Audis. Can't tell if it's the clutch or the transmission. It mainly does this in first gear. The sound it makes is hard to describe, once out of first it's mainly gone. It kinda sounds like a go kart whining out (I know, dumb comparison but hard to describe) And another thing, don't know if it's connected. When idling, up in the engine compartment I can hear what sounds like a paper ball in a tin can blowing around. It does do it louder when revving it up a bit. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I forgot to mention, it's an 04 A6 1.8t quattro with a 6-speed
