A4 guy buying his first S4
Plan to expect 12-15mpg in the city with a b6/b7. You can get up to 23ish on the highway at 65 and 19-20 cruising around 85. I just made a road trip and through Wyoming I had an awesome tailwind and got 25mpg on a tank at 90.
Like its been said before it all really depends on how you drive. You'll want to get on it just because its soo easy but at the same time the car slows you down because you want better gas mileage.
The B6 is a solid car in and out and I absolutely love it. For the most part it is reliable but when you have a few small issues it gets expensive so I'd HIGHLY recommend an extended warranty; I've already used mine and my factory just expired.
Also get a color specific to the S class like imola, nogaro, or brilliant red (b6). These colors are amazing and really says that this isnt a normal audi, you soon hate it when someone comments on the S4 as an A4.

my b5 got 360 miles to 15 gallons on the highway with the A/C on. That's like 24 mpg I rarely see above 24 highway and if I do mostly city driving I get 280-320 a tank, it's shitty compared to my wifes Z24, but it is a twin turbo so what do you expect. A 6-speed would do much better on gas.
