Yeh its got a new title now. So its fine. Im not that worried about the title. Im just kind of wondering if anyone has experience with a car that has been salvaged and rebuilt. I'm just wondering if its an acceptable and safe thing to do. And lastly what yall would do if you had the option to buy a 2000 S4 w/ 45k miles for $15,000 that USE to have a salvage title? I hope that clears things up.

a car is never fine after a major accident IMO...the car starts to idle weird and makes funny noises and over a long term, it just gets worse. but thats not all cases, you may get lucky here and there. but i dont see a point in buying a smashed up car that is now "fixed"....

the guy who bought it & drove it for a year, now wants to sell (sounds also like a red flag) if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
i'd wait. you'll find another good car soon.

Well it doesnt sound too good to be true considering I know the history of the car. I think the price is reasonable considering its past. He is selling because he just had another kid and cant fit the whole family in the car now. Im gonna research it a bit more and maybe try to talk the price down a bit more as well.

The main thing is that I dont want to take out a loan. I can pay cash for this car right now. My main worry is that if anytime in the future I wanted to sell I wouldnt be able to.

I would recomend testing it before buying it, or at least waiting...b/c i have an suv(i know, not an S4, but just an example) that had some front end damage, and i got it fixed. It looks perfectly fine, but it runs a lot weaker than it used to, there is a funny noise when i accelerate. So i would recomend not buying it without seeing...there will probably be another audi with a previous salvage title that is just about the same price in the future, but its a gamble either way you go.

My brother truck was basicly totaled, and we had it fixed and it runs just as good or even better then when we first got it new. but i think liek everyone else is saying is check it out, if you could get a family member or a friend that you trust to check it out and bring it to a mechanic. and get the price down maybe.
