Does the chip for the 2.8 require that you switch to using 91+ Octane??

I think you can put ur fears to rest, liquidxit. The stock 2.8 has 190hp and that's easily attainable with the k04 turbo in 1.8T. From what i gather 1.8T are easy modded, but the 2.8L seems to be more reliable as a DD. Also, can't really tell the difference between a chipped and a stock 2.8, but any mod in a 2.8 would be redundant to the PSupercharger upgrade. Only driven it once and the power is amazing. I don't have any dyno's on the thing, but I used to own a stock s4 and maybe I'm wrong, but I do believe the PES 2.8L was faster than the s4. But then again, the 1.8T can probably go as high as well from what I gather from the forums.

However it would be interesting to evaluate reliability of the 2.8L over the 1.8T. Audi's are renowed for having a bad temper, but most of the complains seem to be from 1.8T owners. I don't know if this is due to the fact that more people have 1.8's or if the 2.8L is more robust.

I can run the same power as a chipped, intake and exhaust 2.8 with a chipped 1.8t and n75 race valve. Im not worried about power and modding. I wanted the audi for a nice car to drive. I am laying the ground work for chipping as we speak.
