they normally burn the seats after they wires get cracked in the seats. They are very thin and somethign as simple and leaning on the seat with your knee could break them. When this happens they short out and sometimes will burn the seat. I have nver heard of one burning the seat while it was NOT turned on tho.

In their car manual, Audi specifically warns about NOT leaning on your knees on the seats equipped with seat heaters for the same reason. Sandeep, do you remember doing that or for that matter placing an a heavy object on the seat?

that's ridiculous......it's something i would expect from a company like.....daewoo, if they made heated seats, that is...."don't lean on your seats with your knees.".......are you SERIOUS with this one, audi?

It makes sense.. the wires are really thin.. if you ever get the chance.. pull the upholstrey off some old heated audi seats you will see.. kinda make you say "wow"

yea, it makes sense that it would happen....what doesn't make sense, is why audi would produce and distribute such a shoddy product....
