MY S4 BLEW UP!
until he answers why, i will have to go with you on that one. i love the power and all around feel (minus the optional fire starter feature) of my car. but seriously, why downgrade? i too love the a3 and i love the 6spd, but would have taken the dsg no doubt had audi offered it, but why move down from the s4, especially if you got the money (again) to buy one? again, just curious as to why?
In reply to "cheeseater's" good question:
The S4 is a brilliant car, no doubt! I bought an early 2005 version for quite a good price late in the year. Since I got that money back after the incident my first intention was to buy the newer version. The one thought at the back of my mind was that it was about 8K more not incl. tax for me (as audi wasnt coming forward to help me get a good deal!). This was a little bit of a stretch for me but I was willing to do it. Then while taking the S4 for a test drive I said that I would like to try the 3.2 a3 as I used to own a gti previously and always liked the a3. I also knew that the 3.2 a3 was more or less an audi version of the r32 which always caught my eye. I thoroughly enjoyed the test drive. The a3 was very torquey in the low rev area. It would kill the 330i for speed while also is quattro. Not as powerful as the s4 especially above 70mph but in my case this doesnt matter as i spend half my time in traffic! I thought that i spared my pocket some change while still having a fun fast car. Some might argue that it doesnt have the status of the S4 (which it doesnt obviuosly) but image isnt everything. I like to slip unver the radar!
